Okay guys, I am buying new tires and wheels tomorrow and I need to know what offset to run with 315/75x16? I haven't bought my lift kit yet, I am waiting until I get the tires. I would like to go with a leveling kit if possible but it looks as though it will take a 4 inch lift. Has anyone ran this size with a leveling kit? Will the lift size determine the offset of the rims?
man all you guys getting lifts. I hate all of you!
Yo, Abendx, dude, you got a question over here! Now just answer the question don't go trying to sell yer "goods". And don't You go mentionin' fornication again either...it puts a real scary picture in our minds. Gad!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Jan-02 AT 08:14 PM (EST)]Abendx isn't allowed to reply to the lift only the backspacing part! My wife put a limit of 4 inches lift and Abendx can't suggest something that small! Just for the record, I only have a 2 3/4 inch block in the rear (on the axle ) instead of the 4 inch everyone else has. I thought I had the 4 inch block so this means I have to get a lift. If I get the 2 1/2 inch level kit can I add a leaf or a 4 inch block in the rear and still run the 315's?
Thanks man, I personally wouldn't have went with anything that small but hey, everyone to there own! I'm going for the massive 8 inch size with 35 tall tire. I know, you can only dream to have a ride as big and If you keep watering, it might grow up like mine! Seriously man, you have a great looking ride! Thanks for the info.
It's an 8 inch rim and a 12 inch tire. Sorry for the confusion! I am picking them up at 3 today. Can't wait to see what they look like on my truck. I did somemore measuring last night and determined that it will take a 4 inch lift. Now who has the best lift kit for my truck?
I put my tires on my truck yesterday and it looks great! They are 315/75x16 on Weld Typhoon 16x10 rims. I haven't installed a lift yet so they do rub. They only rub on the back inner fender at the bottom where it turns under the floor pan. Abendx was right, it will take a leveling kit to clear everything. My next question I have is about the speedo recalibration. What do I ask for at the dealership? Do they know what they are doing or can someone tell me so I can relay instructions to them? I am working on getting some pictures in my gallery.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jan-02 AT 05:26 PM (EST)]First off I would like to say high to all since this is my first post on this forum ( usually on Ford-Diesel.com).......Now on to my post...... Since it seems that you are stuck between a 4 in and a leveling kit GO WITH THE 4". There are ton's of leveled SD out there. There are still lots of 4" but they look a lot better and some leveling kits do still rub with 35's. As for the company I would go with the pro comp or skyjacker for a 4", and Fabtech 5.5" or the tough country 5" if you want to squeeze a little more out of the lift.
Any good dealer can do your spedo for you it cost me 35 bucks and that is about standard going rate. If you want to find the procedure there is a post on FD.com that spells it out word for word. Good luck with the new lift and tires
