Unhappy Heater Core 96 Explorer

Does anyone know how to replace the heater core on a 1996 Ford Explorer? Do I have to remove the dash or can I go through the glove box? Does it matter if it has airbags?

I have a 98 , just pulled mine tonight. My dash and center console had to come out. I followed a Haynes manual and it was incorrect on some steps. I will try to follow up with a better post soon explaining.

question

How long did it take you to pull it apart? Do you have airbags? How hard was it to deal with the airbags since my boyfriend and I are going to try to do this ourselves and save a ton of money. I have the Haynes Manual as well
