I know of a few local radiator shops here in SoCal that will recore just about anything. Do you have a core now?
I'm working on a 51 F1 for an old fellow who has been taken advantage of by many so called mechanic and body shops . I'm hooking up all the things the other shops claimed they could do but never did. I would load some pics ,but for some reason I am no longer able to . I was hoping to find a source for a new heater core . Trying to keep the cost down . I'm fixing it for him free and he is giving me his left over parts when it's done. There is a core in the heater box . The painter he used never adjusted the doors, the hood , just slopped through, really did a bad job , for tons of money . I'm making it right for him. He is 80 years old and deserves to be treated better.
Check with Firstrider, he has a source that he recommends.
Hoping to find something locally or from the brown truck ( U P S ).
I saw your ad for Edith somewhere on line. I could never part with such a beauty. thanks for the reply.
Thank you for helping out the old guy. The word needs more people like you and less of the A-hole con artists and low lifes that take advantage of people.
If it is a firestone style heater I have pics in my truck #2 build of mine in pieces if you need to see how it goes together.
I have seen cores on ebay but I assume used ones leak unless they say they have been tested.

If the core is there is there any possibility that it is fit for use?
Summit lists a number of heater cores but you would have to know the size of the core and the inlet/outlet specs. A buddy had a core built for his 55 F100, the radiator guy took the OEM tanks off the 55 F100 core and mated them to another new core.

Here is the source that Firstrider gave Contact Universal Carnegie Manufacturing in PA . But he says to plan on spending around $100 for one.
I'm stalled on the other truck and my wife is having some medical issues that we are gonna need some extra cash for.
