HORSEPOWER!!!!
Now that I have youre attention I would like to see if anyone has heard anything about what Ford plans to do with their 5.4 and the V-10 as far as Horsepower is concerned! I am a PROUD owner of a 2K S.D. Xcab, 4X4, 5.4, 5spd w/4.11. I have put on a series 40 flowmaster and an Airaid kit. My truck looks GOOD and sounds VERY good! I am going to upgrade to a Crewcab in late 03 or early 04. Being a middleclass American I am a firm believer in getting the most for youre money! This includes HORSEPOWER and I would gladly spend a few more dollars to get extra FACTORY h.p. (within reason!). While I am not a tried and true Ford man I do love the look of my S.D. and would continue to spend my middleclass means on a new Crewcab if Ford will compete with GMC and DODGE. The lastest news I have on GMC is 320HP & 340HP for thier V-8's. Dodge will release the HEMI's with 330HP+ & 350HP+. While I do believe 20-30HP is not much to brag about 40HP+ is!! Does anyone have any info on what Ford plans to do to keep thier motors on par with the GMC and Dodge. Thanks.

Then why didn't you get the V10 to begin with?
be patient, I believe Ford will NOT lose the HP wars.

MONSTA, I could not wait for the V-10 my old (86) F150 was on her last leg and the wait for the V-10 was tooooo long. Dont get me wrong my truck can run with the best of them but when I do trade her in for a crewcab I would like that BIG truck to go Vroom! Diesels are nice but I have yet to hear one that sounds as good as my V-8 not that their not out there I just have not heard one yet. Call me simple minded but in my humble opion a BIG truck should be heard as well as seen!FTE Stories

Alright, I have a 5.4, Its nice to own a standard v-8, but i will say this horsepower on my 99 sucks. If anybody knows of anyhting on how to get more form these small yet effective tritons please do post. I heard heads and new intake plenum are effective for naturaly asperated. But then y again saving my money and supercharging it does seem more effective. Im lifting it this weekedn and hope to do my gallery soon. Please let me know.
