I got a Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor (6.25 peak HP, 28 Gallon, 150 PSI) a couple of months ago and am looking for tool suggestions.
I already have an Ingersoll-Rand Pro 1/2" impact wrench and ratchet wrench, paint sprayer, and 50' of hose.
Does anyone have any experience with air buffers? I had my front bumper painted and the dealership used one that had a head about 2" wide to polish parts of it. It seemed like it would save a lot of time.
I'm also looking for air hose reels. Everywhere I look they either already have hoses, or are only rated at 100psi. I prefer one of the hand crank type...I don't need the spring powered rewind ones.
Any type of hose reel will help. Get one with or without hose. You can use your extra hose to improve your reach. You will want to regulate your outlet pressure to 90-100 PSI to keep your tools operating properly.
You'll need a tire chuck for sure. Maybe a needle valve for your kid's inflatable toys.
Then, you should get a die grinder, an angle die grinder, air drill, air hammer, blow gun, an air powered sawzall, (yes they do make such a thing) a 1/4"drive air rachet, a sander, polisher, and a thing the autobody industry calls a "d/a".
I'd stay away from the air polishers. The rpm is usually too high for buffing and they use a LOT of air, compressor is always running. Stick with a good electric, low rpm buffer and you'll be allright, the air buffers tend to burn through too quickle due to the high rpm.
I'd vote for the air-powered hacksaw... I don't have one yet, but it should be the cat's posterior for cutting stuff in awkward places. The die grinder with cutoff wheel is good too, but that shower of sparks can be inconvenient.
An air brush is handy for painting small stuff; it's quicker to clean than a full-sized paint gun.
Pressure pot sandblaster, although a siphon blaster is much better than nothing.
