Tapping Noise
I HAVE A 1988 FORD F150 WITH A 302 ENGINE IT HAS A TAPPING NOISE SOMETIMES THEN IT STOPS . AND ALSO IT DOES NOT WANT TO IDLE PROPERLY RPM`S FLUCTUATE UP AND DOWN . ANY IDEAS.

Maybe the Idle Air Control motor is malfunctioning?

TAPPING NOISE
I REPLACED LIFTERS , RODS , ROCKERS , CAM , TIMING CHAIN & GEARS PUT IT BACK TOGETHER SAME TAPPING NOISE

no big deal, its just kinda annoying. Maybe its just the ford tick. My grandpas truck had it and seems liek alot of them get it.

I was watching a car show and it showed that good fuel injectors tap or tick.
