Hanger bearing

I noticed a bit of vibration in my 87 Ranger so I crawled under and noticed that the hanger bearing was sloppy ,any thing I should be aware of while changing it

It's gonna come off in piece's and put the slinger back where it came off. Also check the u-joints when you have it off. Good luck.

Thanks luckild and the slinger would be?????I looked in my haynes manuel and it doesn"t show it anywhere

Changing a hanger bearing

Gotta change my hanger bearing on my 87 Ranger Extenda cab,Just wanted to know if there were any tips or tricks that i should be aware of. It doesn"t say anything about it in my Haynes manual,They cover CV joints boots and such Thanks Guys

And lube the slip joint while you have it apart.

I changed my hangar bearing on the 95 Ranger and had one heck of a time with the "slinger". It squeaked, howled, and got really hot. After about the 4th time, I threw it away and so far, that was a good decision. It really looks like an important piece, but I think I would rather change the bearing every 100,000 miles than put up with that. Maybe the dealer bearing is better?
