JUSTDAN, so, basically people use the quote as if to say, "hey, you support gun ownership; so did hitler... does that mean you support hitler also, and have the same beliefs? "
im just trying to understand your viewpoint here not trying to knock you or insult anyone in anyway, but at the gun range i go to they have the same Hitler quote on the wall. i would have to assume its a positive thing then for gun owners.
but... Hitler could have just been rambling on when he said that to gain the crouds approval, and never really meant anything by that quote.
What eveyone is missing with Hitler's quote is immediately after the forced registration of firearms, the brown shirts confiscated them all.. Many people resisted, and were shot.

In colonial times the term "well regulated" meant "well functioning", and a properly functioning militia fundamentally presupposes that the individual citizen be allowed to keep, practice, and train himself in the use of firearms.
This has been an excerpt from The Second Amendment Primer by Les Adams.
I'm still amazed that people think that banning firearms will deter crime, Come again, How will that work? Criminals are going to commit crime and whats one more crime? They still steal, smuggle and deal in weapons in countries where they are heavily regulated and banned. If some guy is going to deal in drugs, rob banks or any other type of armed robbery whats one more charge of illegal weapons possession? The reason most serious drug dealers, smugglers and manufactures aren't afraid of a possible death penalty is because they are more likely to be killed by the competition who won't use caution to prevent "collateral damage" A gun is a requirement in these cases and banning them just raised the price.
THEO- i had no idea until now that the German citizens had their firearms taken by the government. thanks for that USEFULL bit of information. you really DO learn something everyday
