I have my 302 efi broken down to the block. I am looking for some reasonably priced heads that will bolt up and no make me have to go out and buy another set of shorty headers. I have been told that the stock heads off the truck motor are the best application anyone have any better ideas?
well you have several options...you can port & polish your factory heads, get some mustang stock heads, the difference between these i haven't a clue, and have the p&p work done to them along with oversized valves etc....
Or you could get true aftermarket heads...but those will set you back some bux, and i couldn't tell you that those would work with your current headers.
There's also the GT40 stuff, but that will require a special header because of the design of the spark plug hole, it will interfere with your current headers.
This head has a 64cc combustion chamber with 200cc intake runners. World Products re-contoured the restrictive intake and exhaust ports, revised the combustion chamber to a heart-shaped, high swirl design, and relocated the valvetrain to allow use of the Chevy 2.02 in. intake and 1.60 in. exhaust valves. All heads accept stock Ford intake and exhaust manifolds and are drilled to accept the stock Themactor smog pump
wow thats a good deal.. I saw the assembled ones on summits site for $416, and I thought that was for one... affordable heads... wonder if they are a lot better than E5TE heads..
As I read the specs the only thing I can see as a detrement is that they are still Iron,. but it sounds like they have engineered them and the guys at the Parts store where I deal were excited that I chose them over aluminum for some $$$$ reason ;p
It looked like to me the price on the web site is for one head. Did you do anything special or did you just call them and get that price? Is there any shipping charges? Another question please. If I run the 58cc head with the 1.94/1.60 valves, with stock pistons, where do you think the compression ratio would be?
there is nothing really great about aluminum.... they lighter, and you can bump the compression up a point.. But, the head gaskets blow a little easier, and there is always a better chance for warpage.
