Hahaha! I'll bring the Glock, you bring the truck. Well I took some measurements last night and the 44's are out. I would need a HUGE flare to cover those suckers and it's not worth me spending all that cash and then getting stopped every time I drive. I'm going to throw the IROK 39.5 on there for now, with a lift. Then if I ever get the "I don't give a spit" attitude about it I can just trim the fenders to make them fit without having to modify my lift.
I'm thinking it may be time to move to another state.
Originally posted by ivanribic Well I'd prefer to be without them but if I stick a big tire on my truck I'll be getting pulled over every 5 minutes. Washington State Patrol are real ***** about stuff like that and if the tire sticks out further than the fender (which it will) you have to have flares. Never simple.
in wa i'm pretty sure you only have to cover half the tread, i don't know about 20 inches wide but my 14.5 inch tire doesn't really stick out from under the fender
btw the idiot before me put bushwhackers on the rear and i trying to figure out a good way to take them off so if you know anybody that does good body work and can hook me up i'll give you the flares

bill's all ford its in the yellow pages. located out by the humane society
If I had a good source for bodywork I'd be getting my mangled front fender fixed right now. I've got a buddy that does excellent work but he's SLOW as hell and I don't refer people to him because there's no telling when you'll get your rig or parts back.
If you do take those off the truck let me know and I may buy them off of you. Thanks for the info too.
You know, since this is your dd and not for hard core use its better off that you are going with the smaller tires (wait a minute, was that another thread?)...44s are hard on the brakes and steering...
about the flares....ummm, on TRUCKS! when he was doing crazy horse, he got some flares that looked real good on there....and the crazy part was he had one in his hands and tied it in a knot almost....so i think if oyu could find some of those youd be set.
Iroks are cool, I just wish they had the tread depth of Swampers or Boggers. I saw that editions of Trucks...think they were Bushwackers. As said, Bushwackers are a good company with a good product (NOT the fiberglass) but they will still get ripped off on tight trails. I mean, c'mon, I once peeled a fender back untill it was touching my door...ya think a bolt on flare would stay attached?
I'd really like to see the IROK in a 42 or 44. I don't get why they jump right from 39.5 to 49. Baby steps . . . I would love 44's but the width on them would kill me with this truck.

Me and an a couple of old Firs didn't see eye to eye on the line I was taking. This was some years back though but it was some impressive carnage. I was squeezing through a jeep trail and peeled both front fenders back untill they were touching the doors. More skinny pedal than sense back then...
