Need help identifying carb
I have a 1983 Ford Ranger 2.8 2WD no a/c
I want to rebuild the carb but the tag is missing off of it.
Looking in my tech books it says the part number is 2150A
I went to the local auto store looking for a rebuild kit and they need more specific model number
I took a look around the carb and I found on the choke it says E37E-AA
The store had 2 diferent kits listed with E37E but they had three letters after it not two.
I searched on the net and found partsamerica.com and they have six listed for my truck all with three latters after it. They range in price from $28-$54.
How can I identify the exact model number for the carb I have? Do the letters mean something or are they just diferent revisions?
The kits at my local store only had gaskets in it and the prices were $17 and $25. Do the more expensive kits on partsamerica.com have the float and external parts as well?
I know I need a new feedback control because it is cracked. and Pulling the error codes I am getting error 68.
If I need anymore details to identify it just ask or I can take a pic of specific parts if needed.
Thanks
The kit should come with gaskets, and accelerator pump diaphram, a needle and seat assembly, and a power valve. The last 3 letters would probably determine which power valve that it has as well as calibration settings and the jet size.
The feedback control that is screwed into the back of the carb will not come with a rebuild kit and must be purchased separately. It may be a dealer item. I don't know for sure.
