Hi all. I am in the process of buying a 67 F250. But i dont know what to look for. I am pretty mechanical but i dont know much about ford trucks. It is one of the nicest looking truck models i have seen though.
1. How much is this truck worth? It is has about 100k miles and a solid body, very good interior, needs a little tranny work.
2. was the 352 engine any good? Are parts available?
The value is what your area SAYS it's worth. It may be worth $3000 in one place, $1500 in others.
The 352 is a good transportation motor, but other motors can be put in its place.
What tranny does it have? stick or auto?
Check the front/rear cab mounts, inner fenders around hood hinges, radiator support mounts.....the list goes on....
Yup, '67 has alot of its OWN parts that dont mix with the same body styles thru '72. Don't let that bother you, it's not a big deal. Most all stuff is available if you need it.
For parts, check the SPONSORS of this site (see I didn't mention ANY non-sponsors.. ). Most all will have catalogs that have a vast array of parts.
Mileage?? Not really. As long as we are comparing "non" overdrive type trannies which was what came in all these trucks.
My '67 did not change much at all when I switched to a stick. What gears are out back is a bigger factor in getting any kind of decent mpg. Mine has 3.25, some had 4.10 OUCH!!
