Do,es anybody know if Ford makes a 29gal midship gas tank. I thought they only made 19 gal thanks for the 99 super duty F250 4x2. You see we just bought a 99 F250 4x2 2weeks ago and we thought the truck had a 19 gal tank but when the truck got down to a 1/4 of a tank it took 18.5 gals well I freeked I thought the scener was shot and it was all most out of gas. But somebody told me they thought the truck has a 29 gal. can I have some input into this thought.
Reg cab long bed, extended cab long bed and crew cab long bed have 38 gallon tanks. Extended cab short bed and crew cab short bed have 29 gallon tanks. Chassis cabs have a 36 gallon aft axle tank or a 19 gallon mid-ship tank or both. The reserve capacity (amount of gas left in the tank when on "empty" and the low fuel light is on) is approximatly 3 gallons on 29 g tanks and 5 gallons on 38 g tanks, you're welcome.
Take a look in my gallery the 99 F250 rack dump I rember this truck when it came to Keene NH on a car carrier I told the dealer then that I would buy the truck when it came off the lease. By god we did It was nice to see a 250 c/c before they out fitted the truck. Yes it is a true cab & chassie. In 3 years I will buy there 04. The point of all this the sticker that was on the window did not say what the truck had for a gas tank & I was under the imprshen that the midship tank was a 19 gal.
