Closing May 6th
We still haven't sold the one we are in but we should have just enough time to get it done.
We are SO excited about moving (I even have a website devoted to it-- Agritopia Home Owners Website complete with hundreds of pictures of my house being built over the last 6 months)! The neighborhood is "neo-urban" meaning that it is sort of an urban revival theme. The houses have short vinyl fences instead of the usual 6ft block and there is a lot of "community areas" like a restaurant, produce stand, coffee shop, pool, and other things. There are front porches and the architecture is themed after houses from the 50's. The guy who thought up the project wants to create a place where neighbors are friendly and are involved in each others lives.
The only problem with the move is that our business suffered a hit in revenue after we started the house. At first we were going to pull out of the deal and forfeit our $5,000 deposit but we have decided to press on and see what happens.
Worst case scenario I have to go out and get a real job to supplement our income until the business picks back up. I did start a second business already that should help out in a few months.
It's not custom (although you can get a custom house if you really really want) but there are TONS and TONS of options available.
We basically got the house we have always wanted but for a lot less than we expected it to cost.
JK
