Hi All I got an 87 ranger with a 2.9 They say to disconnect the spout connector when setting the timing Where the heck is it located and what does it look like
Thanks a bunch
follow the wires back from the ignition module on the distributer on the passenger side of the engine and you will find just a single wire that has a little plug in it kinda t shaped that is your spout connector you cant miss it just hanging there
Thanks for the speedy reply Alli found so far was two yellow wires by the rear of the intake there is a plug with a little thing plugged into it is this it I can send you a picture
Get the engine timed as best you can without disconnecting any plugs. Then, while the engine is running, unplug the one with two wires. If the engine idle changes (should drop) thats the plug.
Thank You Hreed Everyone said that the spout connector has one wire mine has two yellow wires going into a black connector with a t shaped thing that plugs into it.I unplugged it as the truck was runnin and the motor almost quit.Gotta be it
thanks a bunch
