does anyone here have one of the Warn Semi-Hidden Mounting kits installed on their truck?
I just now became the proud new owner of a warn model M15000 winch and was looking at the warn page regarding mounting systems and saw this one.
i'd like to see it mounted on a truck from as many different angles as possible.... from the warn website, it looks as if it will push the bumper out five inches.
gotta love these young girls that want to spend money on ya!!!
I have a 2000 super duty with a simi Hidden warn winch. I installed myself took about 4 hours. Yes the bumper is out about 4-5 inchs. Very clean install. The only thing that could be a problem is that if you high spool the cable you could do damage to the a/c condensor.
I live in Warns home State of Oregon and have took it over to Engineering and they will be adding a protective plate to help.
Looking at pictures of the semi-hidden mount system it appears to place the winch directly in front of the opening providing air flow to the transmission cooler. I am also considering the hidden mount but am concerned about how this might effect the trans. temp in warm weather. Can you tell on yours if this mount will effect the air flow to the trans. cooler??
Yeah but, the temp here in Alabama gets a lot warmer for a lot longer period of time than in Oregon! Can you tell if the opening for the trans. cooler is obstructed in anyway by the winch or winch mount??
