not sure about a 2003, but earlier models you just pushed the CLK button to toggle back and forth between the time or the station/track. If it is showing a station or track just push the button once and leave it on time. Pushing it again will change it back to the station/track. Hope this info helps.
I know what you are talking about I also have a 2003 XLT, and it appears to be a design deficiency. There is no way that I've found (and I searched a lot) to get the radio to automatically go back and show the time after it is turned on. You must press the CLK button. Note this is only on the single CD AM/FM Cassette version. My sisters Mountainer has the CD changer version and it shows the station and clock at the same time. The only time my radio automatically goes back to showing the time is after changing the volume or a few other sound parameters. When it's turned on or the car is first started with the radio on, the station will remain displayed until either the CLK button is pressed, or the Radio or car is cut off.
Hello, I have the same problem! I wonder have you found the solution? This has been bugging me since I listen to the same channel all the time and would rather it automatically return to "clock" readout without having to push the clock button every time I get in it.
when i had my factory radio in my 02 Explorer my clock will come back on after I changed stations just fine, all I had to do was press clock the first day I bought the SUV and never had to press it again
