I agree with Pro on this one. There are groups out there in various states that want to strictly regulate 4x modifications including lifts etc. Plus, it is illegal in many states to run a spooled vehicle on the highway.
You say, "How they going to know?" Well, if you were to hit someone on this board or their family, or someone that knows about these things, it would be a bad situation from a legal stand point, both civil and criminal.

Originally posted by fishmanndotcom i would suggest fabbing up a guard to run the length of the harness such as a metal pipe or mesh gaurd!
or get a Detroit
BTW....how do you like the E-locker? honestly....does it perform well and are you scared to break it or is it pretty stout?

It came with a mesh guard for the wiring and is as protected as the fuel lines and pump harness. The carrier is very solid. We will see how the magnets hold up. Currently, its only available for a 8.8 and some Chevits at the moment. They have a prototype for the D44. The harness isn't precarious like the D44 Detroit Electrac.
I don't have a problem with the old Detroit locker except I tow with my trucks and don't want to stress out axles. I prefer open diffs in snow and ice.
P.S. Watch out for those Georgia police. They are a PITA. If Washington and Jersey are **** then Georgia Highway Patrol are insurance commies!
I've driven with my 2wd with a powertrax in the back. it really isn't too bad, as long as you know it is going to be different than open diffs. I've never drove with a locker in back with 4wd but these guys are right on how a front locker would be on ice- scarey. It would be nice to kick in the locker if you slid into a ditch or something though.
