Vitiman C is water solulable. therefore not too many worries of overdosing as with some vitamins. I load up on Vitiman C via pills and citrus fruit. Between that and Sudefed, I'm much better within a couple days.
Fluids! drink till you think you are going to pee your self to death, juice, tea, coffee, water, soups, lots of hot fluids work for me and spicy seems to help. Just go easy on the addition of alcohol, a little seems to help some but a little too much and you wake up feeling worse. Personally I don't drink at all, and this year I've been lucky no cold or flu (I'm knocking on wood ) and moving around allways seems to help me shake it off faster.
I take a vitamin C tablet in the middle of the night, and reduce my caffeine intake to almost nothing. Dr told me years ago you will absorb more vitamin C in the middle of the night and caffeine cancels out vitamin C. Also years ago I had a really bad cold, and was servicing the AC at a tanning salon. They put me in a tanning bed for five minutes, by the end of the next day it was gone. From the vitamin D? PS cutting out the caffeine is almost as bad as the cold.
Hope your feeling better GreyWolf.
I had a bad bout a couple of weeks ago. It'll take you a couple of weeks to get back to normal.
Get LOTS of sleep, eat well all day, and drink plenty of fluids.
Distilled water for hydration. Chicken broth with as much garlic as you can tolerate for the 'biohazard'. Soak feet in epsom salts and warm water for fifteen minutes.
