Everytime I come to a complete stop and then start out again my truck likes to shake like a jackhammer and I feel it on the clutch the gas pedal the shifter my butt....... And I don't even know where to start, possibly a motor, transmission, or t-case mount? I'm new to the whole pre 80's Ford truck so any ideas would be great!
So are you saying this is normal? Even with letting off the clutch quickly with a moderate amount of onion I still have the shakes, and my tire size is 285/75/16

Just a thought here, but I had a 77 that did that and it was the clutch was worn completely out. Hardly any material was left on the friction plate and the flywheel was chewed up. It would shake my teeth loose!
After I replaced the clutch and resurfaced the flywheel, it was smooth as glass! Hope that helps!
The most common cause of the shakes is operator technique -Hehe! I asked just to make you think about it. A worn clutch can also cause it just like quadrazer said. A worn clutch linkage and broken motor mounts can also cause that problem. Another thing that can cause problems is a glazed flywheel or pressure plate.
Check with the tranny forum for more info on clutches.
Now would the clutch/flywheel still be the culprit if after I get going and my foot is fully off the clutch pedal and then I start to accelerate and it starts shaking or would that be a bad u-joint problem instead?
Hey 77, It vibrates AFTER releasing the clutch pedal, Now suppose I do have to replace the clutch does anyone have any input good/bad on a Centerforce dual friction set, now keep in mind I want to do a mild build on a 390, lift the truck 4-6", and put 36"+ tires, but in the mean time this truck is my daily driver but I do take it out 4x4ing on the weekends and I would like to enter it in some local bogs
OK, in that case you can eliminate clutch chatter as a possibility. redeye rye's idea of a worn out pilot bushing is a possibility. But before you go tearing out the tranny, I'd give the undercarriage a thorough once over.
As mentioned earlier, check your motor mounts and t-case mounts. Everyone's suggestion of bad u-joints is a good one to check out closely as well. That's your most likely culprit.
Also check for anything thats loose like the rear end u-bolts for instance. Check everything suspension related. Pay close attention to the spring hangers too. The bolt holes in the hangers on my truck were ovaled out when I got it and made for some weird vibes.
I'd also check for up and down/side to side slop in the diff yokes.
