I have a 92 F-150 XLT, and I was wondering if it was worth my time to try and transfer it into a 4X4, I love my truck, there's not a scratch on it, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, air conditioning, remote control cd deck with 2, 200wattsubwoofers, and 1, 1100 watt subwoofer, I just finished getting my truck repaired back to original, and I would really like a 4X4, can anyone tell me how I would go about it, or even if it's worth my time, my truck has over 160 000 miles on it. thanks for reading!!read this
The first question you need to ask is, "What would I use the 4X4 for?"
If you go (or plan on going) Mudding /offroading or have a large boat you plan on pulling out of a slippery ramp or some other use, then it may be worth the effort. But if all you use the truck for is city/highway driving, then you probably don't need it.
You would be able buy a four wheel drive cheaper that what you can make one four. Also, making a two to a four wheel drive will have alot of headachs. It can be done, but how much work do you want to do?
