Is it normal to hear a hissing sound(like water hitting something hot) when the air has been running for a while? Where does the air drain drip to? Is it in the center of the vehicle?
Sure, that's what we're here for. While I don't worry about the drip on my vehicle, I've read where others rig something to divert the condensation to avoid the annoying sound (and possibly prolong the life of the exhaust...debatable).
usz,
my condensation drips on the exhaust pipe in the rear too, but i doubt you would be able to hear it inside the truck while it was running. Pay closer attention to where the noise is coming from. If it is coming from the passenger area near the condensor housing, you are probably hearing the expansion valve. If so, there is a very long and informative thread on this board for this issue. No solutions yet, but I suspect as spring/summer progresses, we will be hearing more complaints.
