2012 F250 Lariat Water Drip on A-Pillar

When it rains I get a drip inside on the driver's side A-Pillar (front left post). The water drips off the pillar grab handle to the floor. When it wasn't raining I took the garden hose with the pressure spray and selectively sprayed different areas on the roof, sunroof, windshield and driver's door and window that could cause the drip, but could not duplicate. I inspected the sunroof drains and even shot air into them the best I could in case they were clogged. I am not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

If you are still under warranty then I would take it in. Take a picture or take it when it rains so they can see if.

Sun roof is what everyone always talks about.

Hi burtpolson,

As Scott suggested, a trip to the dealership is a great next step. How many miles are on your truck?

I have over 100k miles on the truck...no more warranty. I am going to try a can of compressed air shot into the drain holes and see if that helps...maybe get a better seal with the air than I did with my compressor.

Do you have the FCC cab clearance lights? If so they can leak too. Soak the cab down using a spray bottle with a mix of dish soap and water in it. With the HVAC fan blower on medium to high and the windows rolled up tight start spraying around the suspect areas. You will see it bubble. Keep in mind these cabs are not 100% water tight so you will see various leaks at the door seals etc...but there should be none on the roof. Said leak should show its ugly self right away.

No clearance lights, but there is the GPS antenna. That is a good idea you have and will try it.

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I just discovered a similar problem on a 2015 F250 I just purchased. It rained fairly hard last night. On the way to the gym this morning I had water dripping on my leg. I shined my phone light on the driver side a-pillar and saw water running down the dash panel. I also remember my neighbor having this same problem in a F150 a couple years ago. Does anyone, know the root cause of these issues? Is there a possible TSB on this problem?

See post #5.
Update on mine:
Just a few months ago I was going through a car wash when one of the FCC lights blew off. All of the screws were cracking the black bases and were finger tight 2 were altogether gone.
So all were junk and each light had rust bubbles around all lights on the roof surface! This is a fairly clean 2011.
Had to take it to a body shop. They pulled the lights, windshield, antenna, and headliner. Stripped the top, killed the rust, repainted, and installed new lights & windshield. Looks beautiful with new glass paint & lights.
The body shop (a real good one) said he put heavy-duty calk on each light base and between the lens and base. Same for the satellite antenna. He said the ford gaskets are useless when new. He has been in business for 40 years and said only recently he has witnessed this problem with the roof penetrations for the lights and antennas.
So Im in good shape now a thousand lighter in the wallet. I thought was a good price for all the work.

Yes, there should be, but maybe not. I took mine back to dealer within a couple years.
I had a 2010, water leaked at passenger side holy s*@t handle.
The issue was the GPS seal, dealer replaced. I'm sure the new GPS seals are better.

(why cut a hole in a perfectly good roof?)

I know this sounds crazy, but chances are it's the CHMSL leaking. I pulled mine out and re-sealed with some butyl caulk - no more dripping from the grab handle on the A-pillar.
