I recently got a cd changer from my uncle and I need to hook it up to a power source, ground, and accesory. I'm keeping the stock radio so I don't want to splice the cd changer wires to the stock wires, I like to keep them good. So I was wondering if there was anywhere else I could pick up power and an accesory connection? O yea, my Bronco's a '92 with the 302. Thanks in advance.
Sure, you can run the key on and accessory power leads from the fusebox, use a test light to find one that is hot all of the time and one that is only hot when the key is on for the appropriate leads. As far as the ground, there are many bolts under the dash that you can ground to.
They even make special connectors that go behind the fuses so you can make a clean connection. I don't think you have to worry about a cd changer drawing too many amps for a circuit, but you might want to check the amperage draw just in case.
I just spliced into the radio leads for mine, but either way will work.
Well thanks for the help, I'll have to check into those connectors. Do you know of any store that has them, I've never noticed them before when I was in the stores?
