Hi again everyone.. well I got one week off of the fix it site. Okay now another problem with the heat. November I replaced the heater core, hoses, thermostat in January. All was well until about yesterday! The weather is mild here now and I have a Haynes manual finally. Good news! The new problem started suddenly yesterday. The van seems to have a bit of a ruffness when I am on the highway or in the city. It sounds like it has a small hiccup. I think it may be the wetness now but I'm not sure. The biggest new problem is that it suddenly started to blow luke warm heat after I let it sit a couple of hours at the doctors office. The engine temp is staying on below cold but the vents are not blowing cold air. There is no anti-freeze leak and no anti-freeze blowing up at all. Checked the hoses. Good. Checked the anti-freeze hose.Good.The van ran a bit rough. No stalling though. Starts good. Help! Maybe it is that the thermostat has stuck? I paid a few bucks more and got the thermostat that has a safety on it. It won't stick open (i think open) anyway it is that way because that way the van can't overheat if it fails. My only thought is that it is failed. What should I check next? I am at a loss. Thanks in advance for the help. You guys are always so great. Saved me a bundly already.
I would agree with that. Also, maybe check your distributor cap to see if there is any moisture. When you buy a new thermostat place it in boiling water to see what temperature it opens at. You did buy a failsafe thermostat. Which means if it fails, it will stay open so your engine does not overheat.
definately a thermostat partialy stuck open or you picked up a thermostat that is low temp, when reading the book at the store on which thermostat to buy get the 192 deg. fail safe thermostat is garbage, (money grab) get motomaster
