breaker bar is the way...crank that bad boy. get a wrench and a tube with a diameter wider than the wrench, slip it over and theres your breaker bar...much more power
i would heat it up with a torch while applying even steady pressure if you torque to hard on it you could break the rim off the seating area or stip the seating area, that would be not good for o2 or you.
There is a special socket that is inexpensive. If you have an Autozone They will rent you one for about $15.00 it's worth it there's nothing like the right tool. The exhaust pipe should be warm when you do the work. The metal expands a little to help loosen it up.
What size engine are you working on? Sensor on which side?
I find it easier to go in through the inner fender to change the sensors. With the truck jacked up and the wheel off it's not too bad.
I've got the tool from Autozone and I just can't seem to get the leverage I need. I haven't tried the torch and I haven't tried going
through the inner fender. I'll give that a go. Thanks very much for the insight.
I've used that "blaster" penetrating spray with good results.Spray it good and allow to soak in for a while.Hammer on the sensor's lower part a few times and start working her loose with the breaker bar or ratchet with a cheater bar for leverage.Good luck.
