Shift Sound

I have a 2000 F150 4X4 76,500 miles that I just bought. It seems that this truck shifts hard. Especially when going from park to Reverse or park to Drive. It Clunks into gear but seems to drive fine. Do all Fords do this? Is it U Joints or something else?

on my 1998 ranger,the clunk was fixed under warranty and it was my front driveline yoke.hope this helps

I drove my friends 2001 same engine etc. It also shifts the same way and his only has 20,000 miles guess I'm just not used to it.
