I have a 2000 PS 7.3 automatic with 73,000 miles. I'm guessing the first owner pulled a 5th wheel. I would like to know where or if I had a chip put into my system. Where do you physically look? Can I get Banks info from any place on line or do I have to buy a Banks manual?
Can these chips cause poor starting on cold mornings...as I'm trying to fix this problem.

Go to bankspower.com as for wheather or not it does\had a chip, look at the back half of the ecm and see if there is a chip in it, if there isn't a chip in it, but the grease has been taken off the metal\copper prongs then it has had a chip, and no a chip (should) not give you starting problems, banks makes pretty good products, so I dought it would be defective if it didi have a chip, and the chip adding fuel\timing would only make it start easier, not harder. Clean oil can help make a powerstroke start easier since the injectors are ran off the oil pressure.
