Well,l I got the truck. It sure is nice. I was hoping to get some help on an issue with the idiot light that reminds us of the door being a "ajar" .
Seems that after a couple of times going in and out of the truck the door ajar light stays on. I am a superintendent for a home builder in and out of the truck alot. So the other day the light stays on. Then commng to a stop (applied brake) and the interior light pops on ( this has happened a couple of times).
So I check the fuse panel pressing and wiggeling. Seemed to have "fixed" it. No not really, it came back. So now I have removed the 10amp fuse (no indication of failure) for the interior light. Checked some other fuses they all seem to be ok. So now what?
Here's the kicker...I have had the truck for about 10 days. This started 2 days ago, moments after the truck was inspected. Seems the 3rd brake light was out so they replaced the bulb.
I'm in the dark.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Spray the latch mechanism in the door with WD40 (just to clarify)
That does work by the way. I have a 95 Mazda B-2300 and that stupid light and bell stayed on every time I got in our out of the truck. First time I just unplugged the switch inside the door. Next time I just flooded the latch with WD-40 and it solved the problem.
Just wanted to thank the guys for their replies about my dash light problem. The WD40 has been working since last Sunday.
Seems I need about 20 more posts before I can Email individuals.
My 2003 Explorer XLT does the same thing. When the door ajar light stays on, so do the interior lights and the lights under the sideview mirrors. It was a huge pain, but once I tried the wd-40 it only happens about once or twice a month instead of every day. It is still a pain, but not nearly as bad as before.
