Feeling every bump in the road.. is this normal
I just bought my 97 2wd and it sure feels like it rides a little rough, I am used to driving a 2000 F150 or 98 Expedition, is this normal, is it shocks, or could it be something else. I am talking about seams in the road and small imperfections being noticable, not just large pot holes.

My 96 AWD seems to have quite a bit of road feel, too. It pays to study the road ahead before taking a sip of coffee! It rode softer before I replaced the shocks, but the curves were kind of scary. I think it's just the nature of the beast.

When I first had my X (before all the mods), I noticed a huge improvement when I went to Michellin SUV All Terrain tires and Monroe Sensatrac shocks. Made all the difference in the world. Do a search and you will find many threads about how tires, shocks, and tire pressure can change the feel of your ride...

I got the Monroe Reflex shocks, don't know if they ride harder than the Sensatracs. I do like the handling, though. I always keep the tires at the max recommended pressure for tire durability and MPG reasons and live with whatever ride I get. If you put on the Sensatracs, let us know the results.
BTW, I bought my 96 with 79K miles and the original shocks were completely shot. Good luck!
