I just got mine back on the road, big black smoke follows me again, seems to run better than the last one, so noisey it sounds like a Power Stroke rattling.

carefull or youll be putting a trans in her next.or maybe more dana 44 parts.i looked for that dana 60 but its gone.i thought all 96 7.3's were power strokes.was the 7.3 idi still an option in 96 or is it a 96 block?

Amsoil is almost identical to Mobil 1, which is fine for NA 6.9 and 7.3 motors.
Any motor with a turbo on it needs an anti foaming agent in the oil. I know it is not in Mobil 1 and I am not sure if it is in Amsoil.
Power Stroke motors need it even more due to the extreme oil pressure used to fire the injectors.
I have a 96 motor that Ford did not offer so I guess it must be out of a 1700 International or something else.
It seems to run stronger than the other one did after 2000 miles, and as of this morning I have 110 miles on it.
Not worried about the tranny, but the front axle and driveshafts may be getting spagetti-itis if I am not careful.
