When i come to a stop and any speed the front of my truck makes a grinding sound and i really dont like it. I think that the front breaks need to be replaced. And another problem that my the front 4WD kicks in and i dont know why, like when it does that i have to come to a complete stop and engage it and turn it off. I have NO IDEA what it is.
It would have to be that you need new pads, and if you have had your brakes done recently it could be that your pad came unseated and is grinding on the rotor. That is what happened after I had gotten my brakes done professionally on my F150.
i dont know when the breaks were last done. well they were done before i bought my truck. How much are new good break pads and thats not something i can do my self is it?
Well that all depends on your skill level. If you've never done them before i would buy a Haynes or Chilton manual and READ. The front pads are very easy so it should not be a problem for you. Go to www.autozone.com and check the prices for your year. I just bought brakes for both my vehicles and the F150 was about $12 front and rear and the Explorer was just a little more with a lifetime warranty.
