I have an 83 f150 W/ a 351w that I am parting out I was wondering if the fuel filler tube from the side of the bed down to the tank would interchange with the one on my 86 F250 W/ 6.9 Diesel. The ones on the 86 were trashed when the previous owner blew a tire. I was also wondering if the Fuel gage sending units and the switching valve are the same between the two trucks.
The filler tubes will not take the larger fuel spouts on most diesel pumps. Is the 351 fuel injected or carbuerated? The fuel system from fuel injected may work, will not work from carbuerated will not due to no return lines.
The 351 is carbuerated. I have swaped the sending units from a junkyard unit with no return lines to a bracket with return lines but i am not sure if the reostats themselves are the same between the diesels and the gassers.
Also the 67 is a 4 spd not 5 (my bad) but it is all original. (needs to be restored)

Should be fine doing it that way. The guages all work the same way. you may have to play with it a bit to get it adjusted properly. But you gotta do that anyway when you change them so it is out at E, not out at 1/4 tank.
