ok i just turned on the TV and WWF or whatever wrestling was on. i didnt even like WWF when i was 5 years old... cause you could tell it was fake... i dont understand why so many people buy into it?
im a ULTIMATE FIGHTING fan... its real. it isnt staged, no one knows whos going to win til its over. none of that acting before the fight " im gonna kick your rear to china town" its just raw, theres the competition, go get 'em.
does anyone else have the same viewpoint on it?
also i was hoping to make a poll option for this just to see how many people like it/dont like it but i dont know how?
I used to be all over it back in elementary school. Me and my brother would go to the local shows. It quickly died off around 6th grade. I have friends to this day that live for the stuff. I cant understand it.
UFC is my choice. No "Soap Opera" type BS to follow. Its called entertainment in their eyes. What I cant understand is how so many folks thinks it real. If it was real half of those guys would be dead from doing the real versions of those moves. Its entertainment...if folks will pay...they will continue to mask up. UFC...just you and me...the last man standing (for real) wins...I like that.
Well im a big time high school wrestler and watching wwf and stuff like that makes laugh. That cannot be considered WRESTLING. It is a disgrace to the oldest sport there is.
theres alot of those smaller UFC matches that go on around here from time to time, where pretty much any one with 2 arms and 2 legs can go in and duke it out. im really considering it..... but im waiting til i get stronger and practice some outside the ring so i know where i stand before i really take a pounding! ive had a few friends do it, they said it was a great feeling to be out in the ring being cheered on by a crowd.
anyways... i just bench pressed 285 tonight... i think ill wait til i can put up 315 before i try it out, and wait til i get back to working so that my physical stamina is back up there
one thing thats nice is that they will put you up against someone @ your size and skill level, so its not like a 16o pound rookie against a 450 pound professional
oh yeah... i have to get health insurance first too lol
There is a whole 'nother thread on here somewhere about TV wrestling (not to be confused with actual wrestling, they are 2 different animals), it's 3 pages long or so and a lot of opinions.
I quit watching regularly years ago, and only recently saw a NWA/TNA show that was pretty good. Sting still rocks the house.
There should have been a choice between the Love it and the Hate it. Something like "I watch it sometimes". I watch it but I am not obsessed with it or anything. I know it is all fake and everything, but it can be pretty funny sometimes. The quality of the shows is nothing like it was several years ago.
Ultimate fighting is just a bunch of dude-hugging-dudes. It used to be cool, but now it's a competition to see how long two sweaty, hairy men can roll around on the floor.

Oh and it is WWE now, not WWF
I was going to tell him that! Silly Built Tough! "Get The F Out!" That was their slogan when they changed from WWF to WWE. I watch it every week, but I tape it. That way I can fast forward through the commercials and boring matches. I know it's fake. One of the main reasons I watch it is because of the storyline. WWE is a soap-opera for men!
I quit watching wrestling after I saw it live in Rhode Island. It really looks fake live. One guy sucker punched another guy and they counted him out.The problem was the guy who did the punching, didn't even touch the guy who got hit.I was sitting 7 rows back so I had a good view. One thing i can say positive about them though, they are even bigger in person than on t.v.Those guys are huge.:-staun
I also tape it so I don't have to sit throught the commercials. It's a great form of entertainment, IMO. I know it's fake, but I find my adrenaline pumping when GOldberg spears someone. It's just fun, storyline and all. The wrestlers do some funny stuff time to time, but they knwo how to have fun with it, and make it fun for the viewer. The storyline's fake, but hwo can ya fake jumping in the air and landing on your elbow? I know, I know, sometimes they don't hit eachother, but they do wrestle, adn that's what makes it fun. Soap Opera for men, plus it's like watching a fight back in high school;ya know it's pointless and you should walk away, but it's entertaining watching some guy bloody up another.
I liked it "back in the day" when it was more like Looney Toons but not that it's all soap opera-y I don't care for it. Now G.L.O.W. -- that was entertainment!
wwf stuff shouldnt even be considered wrestling. It should be called play fighting. I mean if you want to see something intense watch real college or high school wrestling, thats the original wrestling, and man is it fun.
