I Had to sell my 99 250 4x4 cc short bed PSD a couple years ago and I've missed it ever sense. I put a 4 inch pro-comp lift with 33x12.5 tires on it. Now I'm looking for a 99 or 00 250 4x4 cc short bed PSD and I would like to ask a couple questions. I would like to put a super-lift 6 inch all spring lift and 35x12.5x16.5 B.F.G a.t.'s or 37x12.5x17 with eage alloy 589's. I don't want any rubbing and from what I've seen in hear it will have to be the 35's right? Iwould also like to know how tall the truck would be to the top of the clearance lights. It needs to fit in my 93 inch garage door opening. Thank you. This is a great site, Ive been looking at it for a month now.
35s under a 6" will allow you to wheel the truck hard w/o rubbing.
37s under a 6" will most likely clear on street and mild off road but if you off road it harder they will rub.
I think that either combo should fit in a 93" opening but I don't have a truck with that combo to give you an exact measurement........hopefully someone can verify that.
Thanks for your answer DCSpecial. I am leaning towards the 37's now if I can without rubbing. I like the looks of that combination and I dont plan on running the crap out of it. I drove a 03 cc with a 8 inch lift and 38x15.5 P.J. and they rubbed the leaves when turning and it sounded awful on such a nice truck. I know a lot of guys love the P.J. but they were so loud at 40mph and on up it turned me away from an 8 with 38's, so thats why I was asking about the 6 with smaller tires.
do they claim that though? I know they have the picture of that truck with that setup, however that is not what the suggest in their tire fitment guide
That is what the picture says anyway. But I wouldn't want that skinny of a 38 tire anyway. Its kinda funny about what companies recommend and what they do to push a sale.

Dude are you comparing apples to apples.. IF your girlfriends chev luv on Aqua tread is what your using as a baseline...that might not be giving you accurate results...In my humble experiance PJs are the quitest 14.5" wide tire ive run.. .to compare ive run Interco Super Swamper TSL, Boggers, Thornbirds, Buckshot Mudders, BFG all terrains, Micky T Bajas and Wild Countrys.... PJs are quiter by FAR... what are you comparing them too? just curious?
I never had tires that size on a truck before, but I really liked the look of 8inch with 38's and that was what I was going to do until I drove that truck. Maybe the tires needed balanced, Idon't know. All I know is it was loud as hell above 40 and I want a nice Quiet ride. All I want to hear is that sweet diesel. Thanks Rd Barron for your input. Do you know where your rubbing?
