I just noticed that my passenger headlight had excessive water in it and the dealer said it's normal condensation and that it is not covered under warranty. I'm going to try another dealer but I might end up cleaning it out myself. Does anyone have any ideas on removal of the rt headlight . Looks fairly cramped in the back with no access to any hardware from the engine compartment. Is removing the adjusters from the top the way to go?
Maybe this is why the dealer didn’t want to deal with it. Some work on time standards you know. Their mechanics get so much time and if they take longer they do it on their own time. Just the kind of garage I want working on my vehicles.
I believe that if you drill a tiny hold at the bottom of your head light in an inconspicous place, it would drain the water and clear up the condensation. This worked for my 99 exp taillight, so it should be the same.
Just got back from another dealer and they have a chart. The pictures that look like they should be a tropical rain forest are covered under warranty but just for some casual condensation Ford says should clear up. I don't want to drill any holes. If I can remove it I could take it to work and actually place it in a vacuum oven to dry it out and back fill with Nitrogen. But if it leaks that won't do much good. Going to take the garden hose and see if it leaks and maybe actually see if it would get worse.
As far as removal, it looks like it has a few slide clips in the back.
Checked the owners manual on bulb replacements and it says to slide rear clips up, then tip assy foward to access the bulbs. This should work.
