emissions stuff

I have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 4.9L and a 5 spd and I was wondering how much of the emissions stuff I can remove and still have the truck run good and function the right way. I have no testing in my area so thats not a problem. Thanks!

on these newer trucks they run best with all the emissions garbage. trust me, i strongly oppose it. but you might as well just leave it be.

Since a '96 is OBD-II, the computer is way too integrated into everything to mess with. Unless you want to go to a carb and ignition points, just leave it alone. You already have high energy ignition and sequential port EFI with mass air flow, which allows you to do head and cam mods without having to change computer calibrations. Just be thankful you dont have the E4OD trans.
