Ok so I am sitting here this morning and the phone rings. I see on the caller id that its my insurance company. The women says that they are cancelling my truck insurance on March 1st and that they notified the bank i got my loan through. I said wahy are you cancelling my insurance? She said do to past driving record. I said what are you talking about I have had my car insurance through you since i was 16 and am now 30 and have never had a speeding tickect, never had a accident, and had only one claim 3 years ago when I hit a deer. I said can you tell me what this driving record is. She said as far as I can see on here its clean. I said is there anything that you can do to find out what they found out. She said she can try. I said so in other words you cant do anything I have to find a new insurance co before march 1. She said pretty much.
So I call the bank to let them know whats up and she tells me that I got till Feb 27 to give them the new insurers info or there take action with the state for and uninsured motorist and they can repo the truck for not following the contract.
I HATE ALLSTATE INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry not like you wanted hear that but I needed to vent somewhere.
I would look for a higher up rep than one of their operators. Escalate it to as high a rep as you can go, or better yet... find an office and speak to them directly. It sounds like an error on their part that they don't want to admit or look into. If you have a field office, I'd start by going there first. If phone is the only methof of contact, try to get her supervisor's supervisor's supervisor. Let them know your story and make sure you either find out why they are dropping you.. or if it's an error.. that you know you won't have to pick up the phone again.
Another thing - were you late on any payments? Perhaps a check never made it there? I had one get lost in the mail once and I got a cancellation notice. I had to make a lot of phone calls to get reinstated. They'll drop you faster than a speeding bullet if a payment is late or something got lost.
They're cancelling your insurance due to your past driving record, but the woman you spoke to admits that your record is clean. So they're cancelling you for having a clean driving record- ? Am I missing something here? Are you sure it's not a prank call or something? That makes absolutely no sense.
If you have a good record replacing your insurance shouldn't be a big hassle. Might even get a break in your rates. Best deal I found was Allied and they have paid on claims and been very reasonable on rates (no one has come close yet) - especially when I added the farm.
Even if they discover its an error on their part and reinstate you I'd still DROP THEM. If they can't even handle keeping your policy in effect how badly are they going to screw up something important like a claim?

No I didnt miss a payment as a matter of fact its paid till june and they are refunding my 3 month payment I just made. I was at the local office earlier and took the letter in I recieved in the mail today as well as the phone call.
I also went to the state farm insurance office and they said they would be glad to pick me up ... only 5 bucks cheaper for 6 months but oh well.
Just very confused at the moment and I want an answer from them not some made up BS
Get a acopy of your driving record. If your local PD is nice they will
give you a copy for under a buck. If they will not give it to you then go to the DMV. Take this with you to the office and see what they say then. If they still drop you then consider yourself lucky they are doing it before you (hopefully never) have a claim for somthing major.
Contact your state insurance commissioner that oversees the insurance industry. I would look into if they really can 'cancel' your insurance. In Colorado I know they cannot cancel you while the policy is in effect. They can refuse to renew when that term is ended, or raise your rates to an unbelievable level wehn you renew, but NOT cancel.
