Adding Backup Lights

I was wondering if it would be better to add a fog light as a backup light or add a driving light as a backup light? The fog appears to have a wider degree of light coverage as compared to the driving lights having more of a straight coverage path. I am assuming the driving light option would be the brighter of the two.

I added a fog light to each side of my hitch , and pointed them on an angle towards the ground. At first I used some old driving lights I had in the garage , and they did the job. I got bored one day and replaced one with a Fog light , and it made a huge difference.

The Fog light has a much wider "spread" of light than the driving light.I also wired them up to a seperate switch so I can turn them on while driving, or putting my car on the trailer at night.
