Lift Manu's
Here's the deal: I want to lift the truck 3"-4" with susspenion lift but I like to know what the guys running the '99 to 04' F250 SD are using.
What brand are you guys buying, rancho, skyjacker, superlift....?
How much does it affect the ride of the truck?
Do the drive shafts need to be modified?
Most importantly, can I do this with some help from friend?
(I know my way around a garage a bit)I thought it would do better in this forum since this is where the big boys play.... Thanks Mike
Most (about every single one) company offers that size lift for the superduties.. so look around at what people are satisfied with.
Here is a good thread on different brands being used by users of this site:
Different Brands
How ride is effected depends on the brand and type of lift. A Hanger and shackle lift will ride better since your stock spring are retained so there is no increase in spring rate...........and by adding better shocks like the Bilstein 5100s your ride is improved.
Driveshafts do not have to be modified. If you have a two piece rear driveshaft you'll most likely have to shim down the carrier bearing some.
Yes, you can install the lift with the help of a friend as long as you have a heavy duty jack, a heavy duty set of jack stands and of course air tools are nice.
Hope this helps.
Edit: looks like 02superstroker posted the list to that poll
