changing sparkplugs

I have a '93 Bronc XLT w/ the 351 and I can't get to the plugs on the pass rear side. Any tips or tricks to get these out? It still has the orig. plugs in it and the truck just turned 96k so I thought I should change em.

I have a 94 and din't have too much trouble getting to them, but I used an array of extensions and two different depth spark plug sockets and found the right combination for each one, that worked well enough, maybe consider changing the headers too, that would also make them easier to get to and give you the oppurtuunity to get some high performance headers on it!

I forgot to add that part of the problem is that the wires have just about welde themself onto the plugs so that I can't get them off. I am afraid to pull too hard on the wires and break them then not be able to get to the plugs to change them because the boots are still there blocking the use of the sockets.

never pull on the wires always pull on the boots i have a pair of sparkplug boot pliers and they work great!! if the wires are in that bad of shape replace them and put a little dielectric grease in the boots so you don't have this problem in the future.. you could try using some vise grips or small chanel lock pliers. try to get the boot twisting then it should pop right off. if you break the wire off you could cut the boot with a razor blade or something. just do whatever you have to do and make sure it doesn't happen again(hint dielectric grease) good luck with this

Buy the Craftsman spark plug sockets with the universal built into the end. Haven't had a problem with any car since except pontiacs.

Lift the front-end off the ground and work through the wheel well. Tool companies make a spark plug boot tool, mainly a long reach 2 prong fork. Others have suggested new wires and the use of Dielectric Grease and I agree. Good luck.
