it says camper special on the bumper but not super camper special. my husband looked on the cowl also. but it does have the spare tire on the pasenger side of the bed under a panel.
is it or is it not a camper special?

Looks like a nice solid truck - definitely a keeper...

Nope.
In the other camper special thread I mentioned I have a "Trailer Special" that has the spare as described and the 140" wheelbase. I thought for the longest time I had a camper special, but after reading the other thread and looking at the owners manual I see I have the "heavy duty" towing package on a non-SCS truck.

this truck is a camper special, it has a bumper that pulls out about 4 feet to accommodate a large camper.

That's news to me... I always thought the side mount spare was ONLY in the extended wheel base F350. Learn something new every time I'm here... Thanks.
Originally posted by CmprSpecial I am not arguing that your truck is a not CS, I was just pointing out that the spare tire location is not unique to the CS and SCS.
Nice truck by the way....
thanks.
BTW i noticed you have a trailer special. does the bumper pull out about 4 feet?
I have not been able to prove difference from camper special and super camper special. My 77 F350 Ranger Camper Special 2wd has 140 inch wheel base, regular cab, 8 foot box, side mount spare, 9900 gvw, 9.75 x 16.5 rear wheels, 8 x 16.5 front wheels, 460, C6, cruise control, 4 row radiator, factory trans cooler, dual batteries, and dual fuel tanks. What could possiably be more special than that? Other than 4x4.
I worked in Ford dealer parts and have all factory miro fishe and have still never found the difference other than the emblems.
