I have a 1993 Ford Ranger with 101000 plus miles on it with an automatic transmission. when driving down the highway in overdrive, the transmission acts like it is breaking lock but is still locked up. I have had it to an engine man who says it is my transmission and I have had it to a transmission man who says it is my engine. I have replaced all the plugs and wires and replaced the transmission fluid.
No, it's not throwing any codes. Two out of three transmission guys say it's something in the engine because it's not breaking lock. The third says it's the t/c. Would certainly hate to spend the money to have it replaced and it not be the t/c.
Alignment's good, plugs and wires have been replaced, installed a new t/c. Stutter is still there. Now it's back to the engine guy to check the ignition.
Thanks for you help -- I'll keep working on this and let you know what we find out.
