O/D light flashing

98 Ranger 4.0L, 5R55E (5spd auto) tranny
.
After a few minutes of driving the O/D light starts flashing , shifting gets very hard and the Torque converter will not lockup.
.
Turn the truck off and on again and it is reset for a few more minutes.
.
Any Ideas? No CEL codes and the speedo looks fine.

The OD light should flash a 2 digit code. IF you don't get a code there you can have a local parts store pull the ODBII code and post it.
