I am looking at the possibility of purchasing a "chronometer" wrist watch and wondered if anyone owns one and may recommend a specific model. Also, is there a good internet site to purchase? For purposes of discussion I don't want to limit price range since there can be substantial discounting from list or retail. Any information would be appreciated!!
If your looking for a chronograph watch I'd suggest an EPOS.
Those things are built remarkably well!
They are REAL watches too. Quality mechanical movement, fantastic design options, too many great things about them to list.
The best part about them is the price. For around a grand you would be getting a watch that is comparable to a 5 grand + watch.
If you want to go with a classic I'd suggest a 68 to 72 seiko chrono. You can find them on ebay for $300 or less, but you might expect to have it cleaned for another $150.
I don't know much about quartz watches...They are all pretty much the same to me.
Honestly if you get a $20 quartz chrono it will keep time just as well a $50,000 one.
But I really like the EPOS. Lotta bang for the buck.
