I think this is a common issue but could not find anything w/ a search. Something it rattling on the inside of the dash on the passenger side. (I think) It is hard to pinpoint where. Anyone come across this problem before and know whats making the racket??
Check the chrome strip around the windshield on the passenger side. I had this same problem in an 88 Bronco. Like you I thought it was coming from the glove box or the dash. I could only hear it at freeway speeds. I checked with my mechanic and he told me to check the chrome strip on the outside that surrounds the windshield. He said that this is common with Broncos. I stuck a matchbook cover under that side and the sound went away. After that I replaced the matchbook cover with a small piece of rubber from an innertube. I would have never believed that the sound was actually coming from outside. That sound about drove me nuts. Let me know if it works.
I have that annoying sound too, and it comes from the outside, on the driver's side. I thought that it was turbulence from the Lund visor, I'll have to check the chrome strip now. I took it off once to seal the windshield and didn't get it back on perfectly.
cool, I'll check that when I get out of work. Whatever is loose, it rattles going over bumps the most. Living in Maine, we have plenty of them this time of year - and its driving me nuts!
Mine is only at highway speeds, like funtastic's. It does not rattle over bumps. Yours sounds more like it could be a misaligned glove box latch or something.
