i got factory steel rims, maybe 6 inch rims, would 32/11.5/15 be too much tire for them on my 84 F-150 4x4? i want a second opinion before i buy these tires.
also, anybody know if Kumho Venture mt's are good tires?
Kumho Ventures are very good. They are almost identical to BFG Mud Terrains and have the same traction. I have 30 x 9.5/R15s on the back of my 2WD F100 and they made a whole world of difference. They work outstanding in mud and deep snow. Watch out for wet roads as they can be a little slick. Overall the tires ride very well and are quiet (atleast on the back). THey are rated for about 1900 lbs load rating so if you plan on hauling over 1500 lbs on a regular basis you might want to reconsider, but I have had 2000 lbs in my truck for short times and have had no problems.
i just put on a set of 31X10.50s R15 on my 2wd 1984 f10 *2.73 gears, 3 speed on the column* It runs the tires fine, i do have a 4inch body lift to have the clearance, i just got rid of my 32x11.50 r15, i cant tell no difference between the tires, just like josh said above, you have to watch out for wet weather, i spin no matter what size tire i have, your truck would have no prob being 4x4 pushing those tires, i doubt they put the 2.73's in them
The Tire and Rim Association recommends between an 8 and 10 inch rim for that size. My guess is that the 6 in rim may be too narrow. This will result in some serious sidewall bulge. I would go with something smaller or get a wider wheel...just my opinion.
I went to a local tire retailer to have a set of 31-10.50-15 put on my stock steel rims and they refused to sell and install them because the 6" rim was too narrow. I would think that 32-11.50's would most definately be too wide for the stock rims.
31x10.5's fit on the stock 6 inch rims but will rub your torsion bars when turning, they bulge, but not bad. I think 11.5's would really be pushing it, I upgraded to 8's on my truck and now the 10.5's fit perfect and no more rubbing, they stick out more and look a lot better.
