Is there a filter on the interior heater fan? If so, where might it be located?
I have a '98 F250LD that had bark spilled into the vents below the winshield. Ever since this incident I have had small bark particles being blown out of the heating system, most noticably in defrost mode (the AC was running during the spill).
In cabin filtration was an option but I have not seen a filter on mine or seen info in the owner's manual. I have 2001 cd-rom service manual that might show it. You might have to remove the cowl and blow out the debris. It's unlikely you have a filter and it stopped up/by-passed. I would think if that was the case you would have reduced airflow but it might just bypass the filter. I can look on the cd if you need more info.
Yeah, I have removed both sides of the cowling, but it seems pretty clean under there. It does seem however that I have lost some flow, as the defrost has been having trouble keeping up recently. I also looked through and couldn't find anything in the cd-rom or the manual, so I am about ready to tear into the dash.
