floor shift boot

Could someone tell me how the floor shift boot on a 1950 f1 is held in place.

To the best of my knowledge, my F3 never had a shift boot. It does now, a little rubber aftermarket piece, but isn't held down at all. Someday I hope to fashion something that will work, probably just painted plastic or metal. Guess that isn't much help for you, is it...?

The only trucks for 48-52 that actually had a boot was the F-5 and F-6 COE's. I believe the smaller series trucks had the foam seal under the floor cover that sealed out the dirt and moisture. THe boots you see now are aftermarket ones created for the restoration market. As far as securing that boot, hopefully someone who had bought and installed one will answer.
