I'm behind the times on how the great fe fuel feed is going with you guys. Ever get you choke figured out Greg? I used to always rip off my electric chokes because they gave me fits. Then I stopped using chokes all together...my current 970hp has no choke horn or choke and it fires right up on a cold morning. Yea, I can't walk away from it for a couple minutes...but I figure its a small price to pay on our performance engines.
Also, to answer your question I started installing my fuel system tonite. I put in the -10an fuel cell fittings for feed and return, but can't go any farther till I get a bender for 5/8 tube. Also, I am not happy with the BG bypass. Although BG calls for a -10 return the bypass is threaded for -6. I'll probably put it on ebay and get a mallory 5 port regulator with the -10 feed and return. The BG 220gph pump looks good though, and the filter is very cool looking as well.

The only thing I don't mention in my sig is that the 460 is a stroker....but the CARB is a Holley 970HP double pumper...which is what I was referring to
I can see the misunderstanding...I WISH my mill put out 970 ponies
It sounds like you have put together a well thought out fuel system thats a good match for your engine...all good stuff.

The concept behind it makes sense to me, the fuel pressure increases as the throttle is opened up more.
It is a cool thing, but I will be feeding fuel to both the nitrous and the carb. The nitrous will be calibrated at a flat 6psi, so instead of using dual regulators I'm just going to run them both at that level.
The pump should supply around 200 gallons per hour at 6psi. The engine should only require about 100 at full throttle with the nitrous engaged. I dang sure hope it'll keep it fed.
Originally posted by ACESN8S Yeah, I was wondering about that.
Is 6 psi going to keep that monster fed?
Fuel volume actually goes down with more pressure. Volume is the key to keeping a hopped up engine happy. Holley carbs usually run best at 5 - 7psi no matter how nasty the engine is.
Fuel pumps are rated at 0psi free flow. You will get less than advertised volume at operating pressure. You want to look for a pump that will supply the necessary fuel at the pressure you desire to run. Any reputable pump manufacturer will have a graph posted on their webpage.
You guys are probably making more power than you could ever think of putting to the soil. I think it woud some down to suspension, tires and driving skills.
Engine startup is scheduled for sometime in April. Tranny, intermediate driveshaft, brakes, etc... come after that. I will be getting a chassis dyno number but it will be several months from now.
